Dan Gryder explains AQP & DMMS.

So, why does this website exist?

This website exists because I found out about Dan Gryder through his YouTube channel and his Sunday night live streams where he talked about the most recent General Aviation accidents and gave his educated opinion on the "Probable Cause" of the accidents.

Dan is trying to lower the General Aviation fatal accident rate. I think what he is doing is beyond admirable...it's heroic. He's giving of his own time, money, experience and expertise to help us General Aviation pilots stop doing stupid stuff and killing ourselves.

Dan does a live-stream show, he produces videos, he flies out to accident sites and investigates fatal accidents. He flies around the country giving free educational speeches and flight training. 

He does all this because he's passionate about the cause of preventing GA fatal accidents.

I'm trying to help him by doing what I can (as a website guy).

Commercial Airlines had come a long way over the years as far as safety was concerned. They eventually got so good at safety that they turned air travel into one of the safest ways a human can get from point A to point B.

Now people commonly say that the most dangerous part of a flight is the drive to the airport.

Not so with General Aviation. 

Being a "Rusty Pilot" and wanting to start flying again, I was worried about safety. I think flying a small airplane as Pilot in Command is one of the coolest things a human can do on this planet - by far.

I wanted to do it again, but not if it meant leaving the planet prematurely.

So as I started learning about flying again, I put a special emphasis on learning about safety. And that always seemed to lead me to things Dan Gryder was teaching and advocating with his selfless work.

Since Dan occasionally nudged his audience to help him spread the word about AQP for General Aviation pilots, I decided to help and I created the website RustyPilot.club to help people like me who wanted to get back into flying and to help them do so safely.

I also created a companion YouTube channel and even made a video about my fear of flying small airplanes.

Back to the story about why this website exists...

I told Dan about my website and YouTube channel and he pointed out that it's not just "Rusty Pilots" that need to know about the AQP for General Aviation concepts. I realized that he was absolutely right so over the next few days, I developed a bigger vision of how I could help Dan spread the word.

And THAT is why this website and its "sister sites" exist.

My hope is that you will spend some time here and eventually develop your very own AQPGA scenario-based training regimen.

I dream of having an organization that has airplanes available for AQPGA trained and current pilots who want to fly but don't have their own airplane, don't have a flying club they want to join and find the constraints of renting from a flight school are limiting what they can do.
